Technology and Banking Programs with MEDA

Want to break into the technology or banking world? Check out the Mission Techies and Bilingual Bank Teller programs with Mission Economic Development Agency. Both programs offer training, stipends, and placement services to get participants started in tech and banking careers.

Mission Techies:

In this free 12-week training program, participants learn the history of computers, study hardware/ components, learn how to provide tech support and much more. Graduates of the program receive a $500 stipend plus ongoing placement and retention services. This program is an entry point for low- and moderate-income young adults to access San Francisco's technology sector, which experienced 57% growth over the last three years.

Program Requirements:

  • 17-24 years old
  • SF Resident
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
  • Commitment to the 12 week training program (144 total hours)
  • Available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 1pm ' 5pm

Bilingual Bank Tellers:

In this free 10-week training program, participants learn customer service skills before devoting six weeks to learning the skills required for a teller position in any financial institution. Graduates of the program receive a $500 stipend, plus ongoing placement and retention services.

Program Requirements:

  • SF Resident
  • 17-24 years old
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
  • Commitment to the 10 week training program (80 total hours)
  • Available Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00 am ' 1:00 pm
