JOB SUMMARY
The Bakery Counter Attendant is primarily responsible for assisting guests in the Bakery as well as setting the overall level of guest service for the market. Counter Attendants have the responsibility of both prep and food service. This position provides a lasting impression for our guests and should be filled by candidates dedicated to delivering impeccable guest service and a quality dining experience. The Counter Attendant will process guest transactions, answer any customer menu questions, serve and box food, and assist in light cleaning projects.
Processing Guest Transactions
' Delivers outstanding guest service at all times as outlined in The Market on Market's Service Standards Philosophy.
' Processes all guest orders using a POS system efficiently and accurately.
' Completes all tasks assigned by management. Prioritizes all tasks and ensures they are completed in a correct and timely fashion.
' Demonstrates a positive, pleasant, and guest-oriented attitude throughout the shift, even when dealing with difficult guests.
' Answers all guest menu questions to the best of one's ability, finding solutions if the answer is unknown.
' Stocks and replenishes station to-go boxes, pizza boxes, utensils and condiments.

' Stocks shelves and marks prices on shelves and items.
' Assists with rotation and stocking of all product, ensuring FIFO, proper organization, and the storage of new product in a timely manner.
' Completes all other cleaning or stocking tasks requested by management.
Adherence to Company Guidelines
' Maintains a thorough knowledge of and complies with all Company policies and procedures of The Market concepts.
' Reports on time for scheduled shifts and in proper uniform.

Key Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS' Minimum one year experience as a Cashier or Guest Service Member in a high volume restaurant or retail environment.
' Must be 18 years or older.
' CA Food Handler's Card required.
' High School Diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate.
' Ability to perform all tasks with attention to detail, timeliness and accuracy, while being able to prioritize, organize, and effectively complete tasks.
' Ability to think clearly, remain calm and resolve problems professionally and with good judgment.
' Ability to work effectively under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines as they pertain to delivering high quality service to our guests.
' Ability to effectively, legibly, and professionally communicate (verbally and in writing) in English with co-workers, guests and management to their understanding.
' Ability to speak and understand Spanish desirable but not required.
' Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
' Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
' Versatility, self-discipline, organization, strong work ethic and sense of teamwork.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT

' Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of material or equipment.
' Ability to work up to a 12 hour shift.
' Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time throughout a shift.
' Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders.
' Ability to bend downward and forward by bending legs and spine, turn and bend at the waist, stoop, kneel, lift, and carry.
' Ability to work with all food items used at The Market on Market.
' Ability to safely work with knives and sharp objects.
' Ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication.
' Ability to work with and around various conditions of a commercial food service facility, including exposure to steam, cold, open flames, cooking exhaust, deep fat fryers, machinery with moving parts and cleaning solvents and agents.
' Ability to work in tight physical spaces with other team members.
' Ability to endure moderate to high noise levels.
