JOB SUMMARY
The role of the Busser is to work together with the rest of The Market staff to maintain a clean and efficient work environment. This position attends to the overall cleanliness of the store with a focus on the Sushi Department and Tapas Bar. The Busser position is expected to maintain a clean and organized workspace and spends a significant amount of time on tasks that assist other departments, such as food running, receiving, cleaning, sweeping and mopping, and trash removal.

Maintaining Store Cleanliness and Safety
' Enforces and maintains State of California sanitation and health regulations at all times by monitoring work areas to provide a clean and sanitary environment. Completes this by conducting continuously patrolling the store for issues.
' Participates in cleaning tasks assigned by supervisors.
' Collects bus tubs, glassware, linens and waste from the Sushi or Tapas Bar receptacles and disposes of them properly.
Food Running
' During peak hours, assists with running guest orders from each department to the Tapas Bar or Sushi department.
' Participates in the training and coaching of all new busser staff regarding procedures and policies, safety, and any other necessary information.
' Works as a team to maintain tidy and efficient workspaces. Takes direction from the Grocery Team Leader to coordinate market waste removal.
Adherence to Company Guidelines
' Maintains a thorough knowledge of and complies with all Company policies and procedures of The Market concepts.
' Reports on time for scheduled shifts and in proper uniform.

Key Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum one year experience as a dishwasher or maintenance assistant in a restaurant or relevant food service environment.
' Current CA Food Handlers Card.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS& WORKING ENVIRONMENT
' Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of material or equipment.
' Ability to work up to a 12 hour shift.
' Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time throughout a shift.
' Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders.
' Ability to bend downward and forward by bending legs and spine, turn and bend at the waist, stoop, kneel, lift, and carry.
' Ability to work with all food items used at The Market on Market.
' Ability to safely work with knives and sharp objects.
' Ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication.
' Ability to work with and around various conditions of a commercial food service facility, including exposure to steam, cold, open flames, cooking exhaust, deep fat fryers, machinery with moving parts and cleaning solvents and agents.
' Ability to work in tight physical spaces with other team members.
' Ability to endure moderate to high noise levels.
